In today's blog post, we'll delve into several compelling reasons why a sunrise family photo session is the pinnacle for capturing unforgettable, magical portraits at the beach.

Let's face it: there is just something extraordinary about welcoming a new day at first light. No matter how many sunrises one has seen, the peace and serenity of a magical sunrise never disappoints. The overwhelming majority of my new clients have never experienced a beach sunrise so their initial reaction upon arriving on location is typically one of surprise. This is quickly followed by something like, "Wow! This is absolutely gorgeous! We're so glad we decided to get up a few minutes early."

The early morning light is soft and lovely and lends itself well to beautiful portraiture. It tends to be cooler, giving rise to more pink and blue hues rather than the familiar yellow and orange tones common during sunset. The temperature of the air is cooler as well, rendering a much more comfortable client experience.

While families with young children often wonder how their kiddos will fare so early in the morning, it has been the experience of this Clearwater Beach family photographer that they do wonderfully. Even the sleepiest child finds delight in the early morning magic once the salt air embraces their face, and their little toes hit the sand.

Last but not least, there are far fewer people out and about at sunrise, thereby eliminating many of the constraints frequently experienced during popular but often crowded sunset hours. It has been my observation that these attributes in combination with one another, set sunrise apart and generally give way to a more positive and relaxed photo session.
